cain. remember in 2008 when john mccain stood up to the people who thought president obama administration was a muslim. >> no, man. he is not. thank you. thank you. there is either an obama administration for a second time or a new mitt romney administration. and we'll have a very brief period for a very polarized congress to try to come up with some sort of a solution to the fiscal cliff. now i think both sides want it to happen, however, there is, there has been some stubbornness on the part of both sides on some very key issues and the fiscal cliff would represent a departure in the gdp. we could actually end up seeing gdp growth, closer to zero and that's going to show up in jobs numbers. jenna: that is good context for us because whoever wins the election next week on tuesday that same congress is returning and that same congress will have to deal with some very big problems we have ahead for us in the country over next couple months. great to see you again. >> thanks very much for having me. jon: well, recovery from superstorm sandy has an additional component now. the ongoing search for gasoline in new york and new jersey. patience also in short supply across that region as drivers who actually can find a gas station open have to deal with lines l

lied about governor romney's record about where he stands on issues and what a romney administration would mean for the middle class and women and every other voting group. these are desperate times for team obama. he is trailing in the polls and is being forced to spend resources in states that he won easily in 2008. as a result, the lying will no doubt continue into tuesday. what makes matters worse this just as temperatures begin to reach the freezing point in new york, new jersey, long island and connecticut over the weekend and famed families without food and power, electricity and heat our compassionate leader will be campaigning alongside who else, bruce string seen, former are drug dealer jay-zed former rapper who once shot his brother and uses the. in word. the rhetoric flowing from supporters even more disgraceful. ohio governor ted strickland attacked governor romney for sending his campaign bus to deliver disaster relief supplies this week. watch. >> and then there is mitt romney who tries to fake compassion by asking people to bring food to a rally and when they don't do

for the obama administration is married women. they are less dependent on the government, and less likely to buy the president's argument. so they're the group want obama campaign is really worried about. when i talk to the married women, on the one hand they say they think romney can handle the economy and they're worried about the republicans being too extreme and go back and forth. the romney campaign is trying to get them to drop this and think about this at the last minute. there are a small number of undecided voters -- and the question of trust. he was saying trust is a matter central to the presidency, measure important than anything else, and trying to tie that to this notion of romney changing his positions. that was also a pitch to women. romney's pitch, bipartisanship. >> schieffer: let me bring up this, a spent friday, spent a good part of the day with stu rothen bargain, and charlie cook, and i would these are the most respected analysts going today. both told me separately they could not remember a time this deep into the campaign when they said they had no idea how this was going

of what president obama was saying. big change is needed from the next administration and because there was a huge military presence egegland air force base and pensacola naval station, he would talk about the potential defense cuts under sequestration and obama trimming back. we are about to hit the national anthem and i probably shouldn't talk over that. and another significant thing happening today. early voting begins in florida today. get out and vote before election day. historically republicans had the edge with absentee vote and democrats had the vote with them voting early. >> john, thank you very much and continue our live team coverage with ed henry in new hampshire with the obama campaign. ed, what can you tell us. >> this is part of the president's final case to the american people. and monday is putting the pedal to the medal and he will be down in florida and starting and going late sunday and be down there on monday. starting here in new hampshire. bottom line is the adout. and his case with mitt romney. remember the old positions he said. and you go in to vote or

implication that the barack obama administration has. when i listen to these republicans, they're despicable. they practice all types of obstacles in front of this man. they lie. romney is a serial liar. host: let's go back to the economy. talk to me about the comparisons in your mind about the u.s. economy and overseas economy and why your optimism is, in fact, or, as you say, based on how our economy is doing versus economies from overseas. >> well, relatively speaking, when you take a look at some of the european economies, particularly some of the cutbacks in government and all it did was fire the economy up into a worse situation, when you take a look at france, they elected a new president there, and he's trying to implement the same type of progressive policies that the obama administration has done. it's clear that stimulus has worked despite the distortions about it. it appears this appears to be working in some other parts of europe. therefore, i think when you take a relative view of it, and you understand that we're recovering from the deepest recession since the depression, i me
misguided way the obama administration has handled this entire affair, from the lack of security enhancements requested in libya by our people before the september 11 attack, inadequate response on september the 11th itself and then this crazy explanation for weeks and weeks after, the whole thing was caused by the mohammed video. now what you see playing out is the administration's decision to treat this terrorist attack as a law enforcement matter, not as part of the war on terror, but as if it is a bank robbery. what we should have done with that suspect, when we learned he was in turkish custody was tell the turkish authorities, we want him. don't send him back to tunisia. this is not a matter of international extradition. this is a matter of taking somebody who has been engaged in war against the united states and we want him. we want hill and want to take him to gitmo to interrogate him. jon: i'm reminded when a couple of the suspect iss in the attack on the uss cole were apprehended and given back to yemen to be held in custody there. they escaped. so here is this tunisia
